• In 1944, someone brought about one hundred orphan children from Transnistria, (which were taken from Czernowitz, may be from other towns too, but surely from Bukovina) to the synagogue in Bacau, Romania, near Bukovina. The Jewish community announced about those children and Jewish people came to take them, to adopt them. Maybe Filderman, a rich and influential Jew from Bacau, helped in this action. A 3 year old child was adopted in 1944 by a couple from Bacau, Rosenberg Max and Cecilia. They named him also Benis, after a grandfather, but they called him Isiu, his real name. They never wanted to speak with him about his origin.
• Isiu Benis Rosenberg began to investigate his origins and he received some lists of orphan children (shown below) that arrived in Bacau in 1944, from the Jewish Community from Bacau. On those lists is a name of a little boy, Lifsches Isiu, parents Adolf and Frieda. The age, on those list, is one year old, but he was born in 1941, he was very short, so they thought that he was one year old.
